Ryan Davis is a PhD candidate in the department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University. His research focuses on computational modelling of complex, three-dimensional microstructures, particularly their evolution and characterization. This work has been applied to understanding the degradation mechanisms involved in the operation of solid-oxide fuel cells. Included in his related interests are topics such as parallel / high performance computing, data visualization, and program design patterns. Ryan has also served as a teaching assistant in numerous courses such as engineering mathematics and solid mechanics.

Research interests

  • Degradation mechanisms in solid-oxide fuel cells
  • Computational modelling of brittle fracture
  • High performance computing and GPU acceleration

Honors & Awards

  • The Crocco Teaching Award , September 2013. Awarded by Princeton’s MAE department for excellence in teaching assistantship.
