Gianina Buda received her B. Sc. degree in Physics from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania in 2013, and M. Sc. degree in Physics from Northeastern University in 2015. She is currently a graduate student and Ph.D. candidate in the group of Prof. Arun Bansil at Northeastern University.

Research Interests

• Characterization of thin film materials beyond graphene, i.e. transition metal dichalcogenides heterostructures: electronic structure and spectroscopy in the framework of density functional theory.
• Theoretical modelling of the effects of dopants and vacancies on the electronic properties of high-Tc’s, topological insulators and other novel materials.
